What is ST25 rice?

ST25 rice, also known as Soc Trang fragrant rice, is the premium result of two decades of research by engineer Ho Quang Cua. It belongs to the latest generation of fragrant rice varieties and is produced following strict organic principles to ensure high yield, cleanliness, and safety for consumption. This rice has gained international recognition through winning the title of "World's Best Rice" in 2019 and 2023, as well as achieving second prize in the "World's Best Rice 2020" contest held in the US, solidifying its reputation as a top-quality Vietnamese rice.

Why is it the most delicious in the world?

ST25 rice holds the distinction of being considered the best rice in the world for several reasons. It originates from Soc Trang, where it is cultivated in saline soil or in rotation with rice and shrimp fields. As the successor to ST24, it combines the best traits of various fragrant rice varieties. Not only is it a high-yield strain, but it also exhibits exceptional resistance to saline soils.

The cultivation process for ST25 rice is meticulous and follows organic practices, completely avoiding the use of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or any chemical agents. The adoption of advanced European technology in rice production results in visually appealing, pure, and high-quality rice grains. Additionally, the taste of ST25 rice is a defining factor in its prestigious title. The grains are long and flat, with a clear white color and no silvering or breakage. Furthermore, they emit a delightful aroma that combines the scents of pandan leaves and young rice flakes, which can be detected even when the rice is uncooked. 

This distinctive characteristic is unique to this high-yield rice variety. When cooked, ST25 rice produces "super quality" grains that are dry, slightly elastic, fragrant, and possess a sweetness derived from premium rice starch. When cooled, the rice remains dry and firm.
